So what are the processes needed to operate at a CMMI level 2 or 3?


Here is the simple consolidated answer. Level 2 is all about project processes; level 3 requires project- and line- management processes. Most of it you’ll recognise as the no-nonsense basics; if you want to read-up on the finer detail, or read-up on the detail for level 4 and 5, click here.

Level 2: Requirements Management (REQM), Project Planning (PP), Project Monitoring and Control (PMC), Supplier Agreement Mgmt (SAM), Measurement and Analysis (MA), Process and Product Quality Assurance (PPQA), Configuration Mgmt (CM)  and


Level 3: Requirements Development (RD), Technical Solution (TS), Product Integration (PI), Verification (VER), Validation (VAL), Risk Mgmt (RSKM), Decision Analysis and Resolution (DAR), Integrated Project Mgmt (IPM).

Level 3: Organisational Process Focus (OPF), Organisational Process Definition (OPD), Organisational Training (OT), Integrated Project Mgmt (IPM).
